WHEN A PIANIST AND AN ARTIST MEET

Tonight, two panels of fragments are echoing the variations of J.S. Bach. Behin, Mei Lin Hii and Anne Deguerry compose together. The first one on a piano, the second one through visual work.
Six years ago, Anne started collecting those color catchers that one uses to avoid color to run when washing. After collection, they are folded and put back in the washing machine to catch more colors according to shibori tie & dye technique, revealing a wide range of variations.
They turn from leftover to fragment, through her vey trivial housewife routine.
Now let us tell you the story of this sickly Russian Ambassador who often suffer from insomnia. He asked Bach to compose some soft and cheerful clavier pièces for his private harpsichordist Joahann Gottlieb Goldberg to play in the antechamber to sooth his sleepless night.
The music is constructed symmetrically, beginning with a beautiful tranquil aria, the bass line of which fuels the 30 variations that follow.
This is what you will have the privilege to listen to tonight, before to meet Morpheus.
