THE ONE EXHIBITION YOU CANNOT MISS

It often goes unnoticed that women accomplish extraordinary things too. Who dared a journey into space on her own in June 1967? Valentina Terechkova. The same year, Kathrine Switzer joined the Boston Marathon as the only female in the crowd: women would only be authorised to join such events 5 years later. The person having received the most medals in France in the 20th century? Marie Marvingt, a wonder woman who collected no less than 34 decorations, from the War Cross to the Medal of Aeronautics.
Rosalind Franklin and Malala Yousafzai may be familiar but there are so many heroines you never hear of, who support their family, their community, the economy of their country. They are refugees, business women, politicians, social workers, artists…
Tenaganita and Tanma Federation, together with Jihane Ferrah, art consultant, pay tribute to their accomplishment through a 4-day exhibition, Unsung Heroines. The proceeds will help 4 groups of Birman women refugees to access healthcare, education but also promoting the defence of their human rights.
